In this Developer's Blog, we have brought the developer's reply to some selected questions from the Developer Q&A Survey that we collected from our official Discord!

 

We hope you were looking forward to their answers!

 

 

Q. Are there any plans for a balance adjustment or rework of Guardian/Windwalker classes?

 

We are constantly reviewing the character balance of all classes including Guardian and Windwalker. Currently, we are prioritizing improving classes with lower powers first and working up the ladder.

 

 

Q. As the game's end content now focuses mostly on dealing damage and this put Tanker classes such as Destroyer and Guardian in an environment they are not as effective as before.
Are there any future plans to rework these Tanker classes?

 

We are working on providing Tanker classes with more relevant roles and positions in future contents. Also, we will be looking carefully into the damages of Tanker classes and check for potential improvements.

 

 

Q. Could you tell us more about the character balancing process?

 

There are about 50 classes in Dragon Nest right now, and as new gears such as new equipment or skill Dragon Jade are released, character balance keeps on changing.
We collect player data from competitions and rankings such as Night Shadow Training Grounds, and also look into internal testing data to form a tier list for all classes to be worked on.
We will be doing our best to provide you with character balancing that quickly catches on the detailed balance changes.

 

 

Q. Are there future plans to support Ancient Dragon equipment and End of Dream equipment in future content to make them upgradeable further?

 

Spun Gold equipment was designed for the ease of access in mind. However, it will be located below Ancient Dragon equipment, the best gear. 
Spun Gold weapons can be upgraded step by step, but as mentioned above, they will be at a level below the best weapons you can obtain in Dragon Nest as a gameplay reward.
Ancient Dragon equipment will stay as the best gear until the next Dragon Nest is introduced, and it will be a core part of clearing the new Dragon Nest and farming the future best-in-slot equipments. 
As for End of Dream equipment, we are carefully considering on future upgrade directions.

 

 

Q. Even though Spun Gold equipment are introduced, it is difficult to even acquire materials for making Otherworldly Ancient equipment.
We do get some through events and other means, but not enough to make a decent progress. Are there any plans to make Tier 1 / Tier 2 Ancient equipment more accessible?

 

In July Update of Korea server, players can now use materials obtained after level cap 100 increase to upgrade Ancient equipments. This improvement will be applied to other regions in future as well.

 

 

Q. Are there any plans to release costumes made from old equipments, or release an item that can turn old gear into costumes?
Also, will there potentially be any changes to allow the looks of equipment to be applied to conversion costumes?

 

We do not have plans to add equipment looks as costumes or add any transmogrification items. However this is a great idea from our players, and we will be carefully considering on this idea further.

 

 

Q. Are there any plans to add challenge mode to old nests such as Ice Dragon Nest or Red Dragon Nest and release them at the current power level?

 

Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for re-releasing old nests in a challenge mode at the current power level. However, we can certainly consider this as a potential future content idea and look into the possibility.

 

 

Q. Could you add practice mode to important nests so we can practice the mechanics freely without using precious consumables?

 

We have no plans to add a separate mode to the nests for practice. However, we will still be providing multiple difficulties so you can practice the mechanics with other players even if it's not a practice mode.

 

 

Q. Will you be improving the beginner guides to allow new players to reach an intermediate level and enjoy contents with older players?

 

The purpose of the beginner guide exists to help new players adapt to the game. For any character advancements, we are hoping our players can find the path themselves by participating in daily/weekly contents.
However, we are aware that the personal growth does feel slow as players draw closer to middle to high end of the spectrum, so we are looking into methods to improve these steps with new content rewards and systems.
Also, we will be constantly updating our beginner guides for new players.

 

 

Q. Are there any information about new classes or characters that can be shared?

 

We are planning to release a new class in Korea server later in this year. The new class will be delivered in a different theme than before, something like "Wonderful Theme Park". Please look forward to the release.

 

 

Q. Will you be re-selling old mounts and costumes that were released between 2010 to 2020?

 

We are considering the resale of old costumes and mounts in many different perspectives. We will consider the possibility taking into the needs and requests of our playerbase.
